Velos Rotors Delivery Drone

Velos Rotors Delivery Drone

Velos Rotors offers a versatile and reliable drone platform known for its heavy-lift capabilities. Specifically, their unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can transport payloads of up to 10 kg, making them well-suited for delivery services that require precision and endurance. This capability sets Velos drones apart for applications such as medical supply drops, industrial parts delivery, or last-mile logistics in hard-to-reach locations.

Velos Rotors’ UAVs utilize a twin-engine coaxial helicopter design, which enhances redundancy and stability, especially in adverse weather conditions. Compared to traditional quadcopters, this rotor configuration allows the drone to hover steadily, making it ideal for precise cargo drop-offs. The aircraft also features long flight times, fail-safe mechanisms, and the ability to navigate through urban environments or rugged terrain safely.

Because of these advantages, Velos drones are increasingly being integrated into both commercial and humanitarian logistics. Their payload capacity makes them a practical solution for delivering time-sensitive items such as blood samples, vaccines, or urgent mechanical parts in remote areas where traditional delivery methods may not be feasible.

This combination of payload strength, reliability, and flight stability makes Velos Rotors a promising player in the growing field of delivery drones.

The IP65-rated, fully redundant design of the Velos V3 allows for a high-capacity payload and multi-sensor options making it a reliable UAV helicopter option. The design of the Velos V3 with its powerful twin-motor drive train and 30-mile control range offers reliability and scalability for any civil or commercial application. The payload over rotor (POR) option also allows for the addition of a ballistic parachute or other sensor options. The V3’s stable governor logic has CAN bus support, which has been tested exhaustively with Here2 and Here3.

Fully Redundant Twin Engine Design

Velos’ core innovation is its twin-engine fully redundant design. There are two sets of every significant component including the main motors, batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), belts, and gears. Unlike most UAV helicopters that are built with common hobby-grade parts, we designed the Velos V3 from scratch with three main objectives: safety, efficiency and reliability.

The patented highly innovative drivetrain gearbox renders Velos V3 the only UAV helicopter in its class with the ability to tolerate a complete failure of most major components allowing it to safely land and protect its payload and surroundings under those circumstances. The system automatically isolates the faulty part without introducing additional drag to the operational part of the drivetrain.

The Velos V3 can tolerate many types of failures including motor failure, a broken belt, gear–one–way bearing failure, burned ESC, main battery failure, BEC failure or servo failure.

Multiple Control Options

The Velow V3 has many control options and supports both classic radio TX and a joystick connected to the ground control station. Additional control options include 4G, 5F, Silvus StreamCaster and others. In Here3, that specific GPS is RTK-ready, which means that without any further change to the aircraft, we can add the ground RTK system and operate with RTK accuracy.

Ready for Extreme Conditions

The Velos V3 is IP65-rated against ingress of solid foreign objects and water, which allows it to safely fly in rain, snow or dust. It also allows for the addition of more laser altimeters operating simultaneously and is equipped with obstacle avoidance sensors and follow me features.
